MGOCSM (Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement) is the official youth ministry department of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. This ministry comprises anyone in the diocese from ages 13-24.  

In the early twentieth century, the Malankara Church saw the great need to offer spiritual support and resources to our Orthodox Christian students in various high schools and colleges/universities. Under the initiative of a core group of students and senior leaders of the Church, the 'Syrian Student Conference' was formed in January of 1907. In 1960 this 'Syrian Student Conference' changed its name to Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement, under the prayerful patronship and intercession of St. Gregorios of Parumala. This spiritual organization gathered many students and leaders under their motto of 'Worship, Study, Service'.

The MGOCSM has grown beyond the borders of India and has been rooted in the Church in North America since the 1980s. Under the prayerful leadership of our Diocesan Metropolitan, Vice President, MGOCSM General Secretary, and MGOCSM Council members, our youth ministry department continues to minister to the spiritual needs of our youth throughout our Diocese.

 At St. Mary’s Linden, our MGOCSM aims to bring together our youth to fulfill the mission of Worship, Study, and Service.  We also hope to cultivate meaningful relationships within our community through this mission and through fun activities which helps us grow in our faith.  Some of the major ministries happening throughout our Diocese on an annual basis include: The Winter Summit, area Lenten Retreats, Hadootho, Martura, Malkutho, Lahmo, Talmeedo, area Back to School Retreats, and Thanksgiving Conference to name a few.
